A FIELD of 15 golfers braved a gloomy weather forecast to compete in the Vice Captain’s Prize at Kyles of Bute Golf Club on Sunday.
Thankfully, the predicted rain failed to materialise, allowing players to enjoy the competition in dry conditions as they battled it out for the honours.
There was some excellent scoring throughout the field, with Charles Marsh producing the round of the day to claim victory with an impressive net score of 64.
Peter Mobeck finished second after carding a net 66, while Dan Macrae secured third place with a net 69.
Competitors were also treated to refreshments after their rounds, with organisers extending their thanks to Sue Philp for providing a much-appreciated spread.
Elsewhere, the ladies played their June medal where Jo Barrett-Hammond came out on top.
Attention now turns to the Portavadie Cleat competition, which takes place next Sunday. All gents are welcome to take part in what promises to be another enjoyable day of golf.
