KYLES OF BUTE Golf Club enjoyed another weekend of glorious autumn weather, with members competing both at home and away.
Twenty golfers travelled to Erskine Golf Club on Friday, September 11 for the club’s unofficial outing.
Robbie MacLeod produced the best performance of the day, taking first place in both the Stableford and net competitions.
Fraser Campbell and Allan Foy finished joint second, with Campbell taking home the unofficial outing trophy as MacLeod is a member at Erskine Golf Club and was therefore not eligible for the trophy.
The club thanked MacLeod and captain Peter Mobeck for organising the outing, which was enjoyed in sunny autumn conditions.
Attention then returned to Tighnabruaich on Sunday, September 13 for the Kyles of Bute Hotel Trophy.
Although a number of factors resulted in a much-reduced entry, those who did take part were treated to another fine day in the Kyles.
Mike McIntosh claimed the trophy with an impressive net 65, finishing three shots ahead of Douglas Nicolson, who took second place with a net 68.
Nicolson also produced the best scratch score of the day, recording a gross 74.
There were two twos during the competition, recorded by Gordon Whyte and Niall McFarlane.
The club thanked the Tighnabruaich Hotel for its continued support and for providing a prize voucher for the competition.
Next up for the gents is the Paul Morley Trophy on Sunday, September 20. All gents’ members are welcome to take part, with the ballot taking place at 9.45am.
