Pinktastic awards honour Dunoon cadets’ achievements

Dunoon’s Young Army Cadets were recently joined by family and friends as they celebrated a year of hard work and achievement at their annual Pinktastic awards ceremony.
Held shortly before the festive break, the event saw the 12–18-year-old members of the Dunoon Detachment (D Company) of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Army Cadet Force come together to recognise dedication, progress and commitment across the unit.
More than 30 awards were presented on the night, highlighting both individual achievement and collective effort. One of the top honours, the Detachment Commander’s Award, was presented to Corporal Kai Lamb, while Cadet Jack Kavanagh was named Most Improved Cadet, recognising his progress and determination over the past year.
Alongside the awards, the ceremony also marked a number of promotions, reflecting the cadets’ growing skills, leadership and responsibility.
Olivia-Grace Middleton, Sophia Belcher and Damian Dudek were promoted from Cadet to Lance Corporal, while Tommy Walker and Jack McDonald advanced from Lance Corporal to Corporal.
James Scott received promotion from Corporal to Sergeant, a significant milestone within the detachment.
Speaking after the event, detachment representatives said the evening was an important opportunity to celebrate achievements and thank those who support the cadets throughout the year.
