Reports of a chlorine gas leak resulted in the arrival of emergency services as they moved to disperse the gas safely.
While the centre was closed as the firefighters worked to fix the leak, a statement on social media confirmed that the leisure centre would reopen as normal the following day, as a spokesperson thanked the fire service for their assistance in dissipating the gas.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 9.59am on Sunday, August 9, to reports of a small chlorine leak within the leisure centre at Portavadie, Loch Fyne.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene.
“There were no casualties, and firefighters worked to ventilate the property.
“Crews have now left the area after ensuring it was safe.”
