KYLES ATHLETIC kicked off the new year in style with an over 30’s v under 30’s match at the Playing Fields in Tighnabruaich.

The game was an exciting and closely contested affair, with both teams giving their all.

While experience ultimately proved decisive in front of goal, the younger players held their own throughout the match.

The over 30’s team boasted a stacked lineup, featuring several players who have competed at the highest level and secured some of shinty’s biggest honours. The Under 30’s, on the other hand, were built around a strong core

from the junior squad, supplemented by a few players from the senior team.

Goals came from Thomas Whyte, Innes, Roddy MacDonald, and Neil Nicolson–the oldest player on the pitch.

Despite a valiant effort from the younger team, it was the Over 30’s who took the first honour of the day.

The event drew a large crowd, who were treated to a fantastic display of skill.

First team manager, Grant Profit, added: “It was a great day for the club, and there is hope to continue this tradition in the years to come.”

Following the match, the club hosted a busy New Year Dance, which was another success.

The day’s events raised over £2,000 for the club’s funds, capping off a memorable and rewarding day.
