Rothesay Golf Club update

The new Rothesay Golf Club season got under way last weekend with the subscription medal, played in sunny and breezy weather.

The course has dried out over the past two weeks with the drier conditions and is starting to approach it’s peak condition for summer golfing.

There were prizes for the three classes and a closest to the hole at the 13th, full results are as follows:

Division one: 1st, – Stephen McDonald 74-5=6; 2nd, – Allan Smith Jr 77-3=74; 3rd, – T. Duncan 83-8=75.

Division two: 1st, – Jimmy Ewing 85-8=77.

Division three: 1st, – Ewan McTaggart 90-16=74; 2nd, – Jim Milliken 91-17=74; 3rd, – Gordy McIntyre 97=21=76.

Closest to the pin at the 13th hole was Craig Charker.

The event was kindly sponsored by Billy Leckie and the late Malcolm McLean.
