The visitors caught the Strachur-Dunoon defence sleeping very early doors, with a Milo Menzies quick-fire double giving GU a two-goal advantage in the opening ten minutes.

But the Cowal men quickly got their act together, and with some improved hitting were able to get the ball further up the park to their dangerous forward line. Steven Thomson and Brandon Wilson got Stachur-Dunoon back into the game with two well taken strikes, before Brandon put them in the lead just before half-time from the penalty spot.

Steven bagged his brace not long after the restart with a superb effort from distance, before Jason Reid got his first for the club right at the end from close distance, rounding off a decent performance from the home side.

Youngsters Spencer Thoms & Hunter Black were excellent on both wings, with the two putting in very energetic and determined performances, however Man of the Match was awarded to Christopher ‘Toph’ Blair who was excellent on his return to shinty after a few seasons out.

The club wished to thank Glasgow Uni for making the journey down and for a very well-contested match and wish the young player who picked up quite a serious injury before the match all the best in his recovery.
