Strachur-Dunoon cruise into next round of Sutherland Cup

STRACHUR-DUNOON eased into the next round of the Sutherland Cup with a commanding 6-0 victory over Tayforth at sun-soaked Strachurmore.
The home side made a fast start, with Steven Thomson opening the scoring after just five minutes. Ken Lawns then added a second with a well-taken finish to put Strachur-Dunoon firmly in control early on.
Despite dominating possession throughout the first half, Strachur-Dunoon were initially frustrated by a stubborn Tayforth defence. The third eventually came on the 50-minute mark when Thomson struck for his second of the match with another composed finish.
From there, the floodgates opened. Substitute Liam Robertson made an immediate impact at full-forward, flicking home a tight-angle effort to make it 4-0. Just two minutes later, Hunter Black produced the pick of the goals with a superb first-time strike into the top corner for five.
Brandon Wilson then rounded off an excellent team performance with a powerful finish late on to complete a 6-0 win.
Ollie Adrian was named man of the match after an outstanding display at half-back. He was a calm and dominant presence throughout and continues to impress following his return this season after a year away with work.
Strachur-Dunoon now turn their attention to next Saturday’s league trip away to Uddingston.
