COLGLEN continued their preseason ahead of an historic first Premiership campaign, as they made the long trip to face Lovat at the weekend.

After their arduous journey, the players were raring to go at Balgate and it didn’t take them long to get off the mark, with Neily McNaughton finding the back of the net ten minutes in.

That lead didn’t last long, though, as Lovat quickly equalised, setting the tone for a high-scoring and end-to-end game.

But Sam Bulloch restored ColGlen’s lead soon after, making it 2–1 heading into half-time.

The second-half saw a flurry of goals as both teams pushed hard for the win. Lovat came flying out the blocks, slotting home two quick goals to move into the lead at 3–2 for the first time in the match.

ColGlen responded with a well-worked team move, finished by Sam Bulloch to level up again.

With time running out, both sides threw everything forward in search of a winner.

It was Lovat who had the final say, scoring their fourth and decisive goal with the last hit of the game.

Despite the disappointing ending to the game, there were plenty of positives to take as the Colintraive and Glendaruel side gear up for their first season in the top flight.

ColGlen’s Man of the Match went to Toph Blair for a commanding display in midfield and tireless work up front.

They’re final Saturday training session this week before the first game of the season, which will be at home in the Clachan against Kinlochsheil.
