KYLES ATHLETIC fell to Fort William at the weekend as the Cowal side travelled north in the Mowi Premiership.

Early goals from Archie MacKinnon and Mark Fraser were enough to see off Athletic despite a late resurgence from the away side where Roan MacVicar netted.

But first team manager, Grant Profit believed there were still plenty positives to take from the encounter.

Speaking to the Camanachd Association,he said: “I thought it was a vastly improved performance from Lochaber a few weeks ago – we fought harder, our stickwork was a lot better and we showed our fitness was really good as well.

“So I’m really proud of how we played today, I thought first-half we started off really well. “We let Fort William into it, conceded two soft couple goals, but I thought second- half we came out and made it a real scrappy game for them – we just in the end got that first goal a little bit too late. Things could’ve been different if we got that a bit earlier, but I’m really proud of the boys and the way they played, and we just move on to next week against Oban.”
