ROTHESAY Golf Club brought its winter season to a close at the weekend, with both of its popular leagues concluding after months of competitive play in testing conditions.
In the West Coast Motors Singles competition, Adam Steele emerged as overall winner after a closely fought contest. He narrowly edged out Richard Murphy on the final day, finishing with a winning score of 38.
Division honours were also keenly contested. Craig Charker topped Division One with a score of 38, while Jimmy Crawford claimed Division Two. Division Three
waswonbyEwanMcTaggart, and the scratch prize went to Malky Brown.
Club members were praised for their commitment throughout the winter months, with many turning out regularly despite difficult weather conditions. Thanks were also extended to West Coast Motors for their continued sponsorship, and to Mairi Smith for presenting the prizes.
In the J & J Zan Kreyser Taxis Pairs competition, victory went to the dynamic duo of Paddy Queen and Donnie McDermid, who secured a well-earned win after coming close in previous years.
Second place went to the Bute Fabrics pairing of Stephen Reynolds and Stuart Brady, while brothers Hughie and Craig Charker finished third. Ewan McTaggart and Willie Glen completed the top four.
The club also thanked the Zan Kreyser family for their ongoing support, with Lesley presenting the prizes.
Attention now turns to the new season, with the Subscription Medal set to take place on April 5. The event will once again be sponsored by Billy Leckie and Liz McLean, in memory of the late Malcolm McLean.
