QUILTERS and stitchers from across Argyll came together in Lochgilphead recently for a day of creativity, inspiration and shared skills.
The event, held in Lochgilphead Parish Church Hall as part of Argyll Area Day, welcomed sewing enthusiasts from communities across the region on what organisers described as a beautiful May day.
Leading the workshop was Campbeltown tutor Sarah Adcock, who introduced participants to a technique called ‘Positive Times’, encouraging quilters to experiment with colour, pattern and improvisational stitching styles.
Attendees also had the chance to browse materials and supplies at a pop-up haberdashery shop run by Vanessa Anderson from Oban.
A popular feature of the day was the opportunity for participants to ‘destash’ unwanted fabrics and sewing materials, allowing others to pick up bargains and helping reduce waste within the crafting community.
Organisers said the event offered a valuable opportunity for people with a shared interest in quilting and stitching to meet, exchange ideas and enjoy a sociable day celebrating textile crafts.
