Blairmore and Strone Golf Club is gearing up for an exciting summer season, complete with Saturday morning cup competitions and Sunday Texas Scrambles.
The club has been bustling with activity since the holiday season, with regular competitions open to both women and men.
Despite the colder months, the club maintained a steady schedule of competitions, with golfers battling it out for prestigious monthly medals.
The following are the winners and their impressive net scores:
Ne’er Day Cup: Donald Cameron with a fantastic score of 65.
January John Brown (Strone) Medal: Raymond Gorman, taking the medal with a score of 63.
February Cothouse Garage Medal: Billy Ferguson, scoring 61 for the win.
March Ferguslie Garage Medal: Lorraine Daw, with an exceptional score of 60.
Additionally, the Winter Cup, which spanned six rounds from October to March, saw Lorraine Daw emerging as the overall winner.
The club also hosted its annual general meeting (AGM), where members gathered to discuss the future of the club.
During the meeting, the Winter Cup winners, Lorraine Daw and Raymond Gorman, were honoured for their outstanding performances.
Additionally, in line with keeping the club accessible and welcoming, the AGM also confirmed that membership fees would remain unchanged for the coming year, meaning adults will be £275, first-year adults will be £150, school-age members will be £20 and students and apprentices £100.
Visitor fees will also stay at a reasonable rate of £15 per day, with club hire available for both adults and juniors.
This ensures that newcomers and visitors can experience the beauty of the course without breaking the bank.
As Blairmore and Strone Golf Club transitions into the summer months, members can look forward to a variety of competitions, social events, and of course, the picturesque surroundings of the club’s stunning course.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
