STRACHUR-DUNOON remain unbeaten at the top of South Division Two after producing a strong second-half display to defeat Kilmory Camanachd 5-2 at Strachurmore.
The home side had to come from behind after Kilmory took an early lead, capitalising on a defensive mix-up to edge in front. But Strachur-Dunoon responded well and drew level around the half-hour mark through Hunter Black, who finished off a flowing move that began deep in defence with a strike into the side netting that will surely be a contender for goal of the season.
But Kilmory started the second period brightly and regained the lead after another defensive misunderstanding allowed their full-forward to score from close range. However, Strachur-Dunoon showed resilience and quickly hit back.
Brandon Wilson notched his tenth goal of the campaign to restore parity before the returning Angus Campbell put the hosts ahead for the first time, chasing down the goalkeeper before calmly slotting home.
With momentum behind them, Strachur-Dunoon pressed on. Half-time substitute Ken Lawns made a major impact, scoring twice to seal victory, including an excellent finish into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
Referee Cat Whyte brought an entertaining contest to a close, with the win ensuring Strachur-Dunoon maintained their unbeaten record at the summit of the division.
Hunter Black was named man of the match following an energetic midfield performance, capped by his superb first-half equaliser.
Strachur-Dunoon are back in action next Saturday when they host Stirling Camanachd in the league.
