Dunoon Sheriff Court report

Annette Federspiel (59), from Dunoon, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and given a £745 fine and ordered to pay a police officer £300 in compensation.

On August 20, 2025, at Dunoon police station, Federspiel failed, without reasonable excuse, to provide a specimen of breath for analysis required to ascertain her ability to drive her car on Ferry Road, Sandbank. On the same day, at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon, she assaulted a police officer in the execution of his duty by biting him on the arm.

Alan William McIntosh (31), from Port Glasgow, was imprisoned for eight months. On January 9 this year, at Hunters Quay Holiday Village, McIntosh behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks towards police officers and struggled with them. He also damaged property belonging to another and repeatedly struck furniture and fixings there, causing damage. On the same day, at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon, he shouted, swore and uttered offensive remarks to police officers.

Graham Drinnan (56), from Dunoon, was given a restriction of liberty order (house arrest) for 12 weeks, from 7pm to 7am. On July 22, 2025, at the Co-Op supermarket, Dunoon, Drinnan behaved in a threatening and abusive manner towards members of staff there by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence. Drinnan committed this offence whilst on bail.

Michael Stone (36), from Dunoon, was given 260 hours of unpaid work. On December 8, 2024, at Dixon Avenue, Dunoon, he assaulted, obstructed and hindered ambulance technicians and blocked the door of their ambulance and repeatedly refused to move when requested to do so. Stone committed this offence whilst on bail. In a separate charge, on July 4 last year, at a property in Ardenslate Crescent, Dunoon, Stone behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and banging on a door.

Kenneth MacDougall (60), from Inveraray, was disqualified from driving for 28 months and fined £600. On April 4 this year, on the A83, MacDougall drove after consuming so much alcohol that he was three times over the legal limit.

Georgina Hall (35), from Dunoon, was given a community payback order and 60 hours of unpaid work. On December 11, 2025, at a property in Ardenslate Crescent, she behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, banging on the front door of the property, damaging the door and letterbox and smashing a window.

Michael Newlands (37), from Lochgoilhead, was given a restriction of liberty order (house arrest) for 12 weeks, from 7pm to 7am. Having been granted bail on August 8, 2025, at Dunoon Sheriff Court and being subject to bail conditions on January 16, 2026, Newlands failed to comply with said conditions by approaching an individual and repeatedly refusing to leave their home when requested to do so.

Jason Edward O’Brien (37), from Lochgoilhead, was imprisoned for 10 months. On May 4 this year, at a property in Lochgoilhead, O’Brien behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by acting aggressively towards police officers by repeatedly shouting, swearing and refusing access to his property. He uttered threats and offensive remarks towards the officers and repeatedly struck the inside of a police vehicle. O’Brien also breached the terms of a non-harassment order.
