RESIDENTS, businesses and community groups across Argyll and Bute are being invited to have their say on the future of the area as work continues on the council’s next Local Development Plan.
Argyll and Bute Council has launched a public consultation on a new series of evidence papers that will help inform the Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3), which is due to replace the current Local Development Plan in 2029.
The council is currently preparing its evidence report, bringing together research, data and local knowledge that will form the basis of future planning policies and decisions across Argyll and Bute.
The latest consultation seeks views on five key topic papers covering:
- Infrastructure, including health, waste, energy and education
- Biodiversity
- Landscape
- Economy, culture, creativity and community wealth building
- Local living, design, quality and place
Council officials say feedback from residents and organisations will help ensure the evidence is accurate and comprehensive before work begins on the proposed Local Development Plan itself.
The Evidence Report will be used to identify what the area needs in the future before planners consider where new housing, businesses, infrastructure and other developments should be located.
The consultation opened on July 20 and will run until August 31.
People wishing to take part can read the topic papers and submit their comments through the Argyll and Bute Council website.
