YOUNG musicians from Dunoon Grammar School Pipe Band were celebrating after a successful day of competition at this year’s Inveraray Highland Games.
Band members impressed in the solo piping and drumming competitions, with several strong performances reflecting the commitment shown throughout the year.
Among the standout performers was Liam Kennedy, who claimed first place in the Open Strathspey and Reel competition. He also finished fourth in the Open March and fourth in the local Strathspey and Reel competition.
Drummer Nathan Paul also enjoyed an excellent day, winning the Under-15 Drumming title before being named Best Local Drummer Under 18.
A spokesperson said Liam and Nathan’s results were a reflection of the effort both had invested in developing their musical skills, while the achievements of the wider band demonstrated the strength of young piping and drumming talent.
The band also thanked parents, families, instructors, volunteers and supporters for the encouragement and commitment they provide throughout the year, which plays an important role in helping young musicians build both their musical ability and confidence.
