A DISUSED former administration office could become an extension to a home under plans lodged with Argyll and Bute Council.
The Bunker, at North Connel, is the subject of the application by Mr and Mrs I. Bowie for planning permission.
An adjacent building, previously used as a sheltered operational headquarters for the Royal Observer Corps, was converted into a dwelling house in 2010.
The application for the separate administration block is expected to be ruled on by early to mid October, with the public now able to view plans and submit feedback.
A supporting statement by planning agents Bruce and Neil said: “The building directly adjacent to the application subjects under the ownership of the Applicant and known as The Bunker was constructed around 1958 by the Air Ministry as a Royal Observer Corps Group headquarters.
“The building’s purpose was to provide a sheltered operational headquarters for the Royal Observer Corps (ROC) in the event of nuclear attack as the central co-ordination centre for the various ROC outposts throughout Argyll.
“The current application subjects are formed from a former administration block built at the same time as the main bunker to provide unprotected administrative support functions for the main headquarters.
“This building has never undergone any formal change of use proposals and formed part of the overall purchase of the redundant buildings from Scottish ministers around 2008 prior to the conversion of the bunker.
“Since then, the former administration block has effectively existed as a domestic store serving The Bunker.”
