Full house for special summer meeting at Rothesay lodge

MORE than 100 visitors travelled to Bute for a special summer meeting at Lodge Rothesay St John No. 292 last weekend.

The lodge was filled to capacity on Saturday, August 8, as Right Worshipful Master W. Stuart McLean welcomed members from near and far for the special gathering.

The centrepiece of the meeting was an exemplification of the Entered Apprentice (EA) Degree, performed by brethren from Lodge Caledonian St John Royal Arch, Campsie, No. 195.

The visiting members were led by their Right Worshipful Master, Andrew R. Nicol, and were praised for delivering an exemplary rendering of the degree.

A large deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Argyll and the Isles also made the journey to Rothesay for the occasion.

The delegation was headed by Provincial Grand Master John D. Stewart and was formally welcomed alongside the other visiting brethren.

Following the degree ceremony, RWM Stuart McLean thanked everyone who had attended and helped make the summer meeting a memorable occasion for Lodge Rothesay St John.

Members and visitors were then invited to remain for an informal harmony, where a buffet was served and provided an opportunity for those attending to socialise following the formal proceedings.

The capacity turnout and attendance of more than 100 visitors made the summer meeting a particularly successful occasion for the Rothesay lodge.
