COWAL Golf Club’s annual Over 70s Invitation attracted a fantastic turnout at the weekend, with veteran members taking to the course for a 12-hole Stableford competition.
Organised by John Comrie, the event produced an exceptionally close finish, with the top three players all finishing on 24 points.
After a countback, club captain Liam O’Loughlin presented the prizes, with Michael Cannon taking first place.
John Comrie finished runner-up, while Douglas Galloway took third place.
A total of £180 in prize money was awarded, along with two four-ball prizes generously donated by Cowal Golf Club.
The club extended its thanks to John Cairns and Ronnie Cairns for their hard work and assistance throughout the day.
Thanks were also given to the local sponsors whose generous donations helped make the event a success: R&R Removals, Stewart’s Garage, Blethers Cafe, the Blairmore Cafe, the Rock Cafe, the River Jade and Cruive Cafe and Bar.
