The island recently played host to a group of international travel buyers as part of a VisitScotland-organised trip aimed at showcasing the best of Scotland’s islands.
The visitors, hailing from across the globe, are responsible for creating travel packages for holidaymakers looking to explore Scotland.
Their stop on Bute gave them a real flavour of what makes the island unique—and how easy it is for visitors to combine city escapes with island adventures via Scotland’s scenic train and ferry networks.
During their time on the island, the group experienced some of Bute’s finest offerings.
Highlights included a tour of the majestic Mount Stuart, sampling local produce at Gather Deli and exploring the creative community spirit at Bute Yard.
They also enjoyed the hospitality of ButeKitchen, learned about the island’s proud heritage at Rothesay Castle and, of course, soaked up the stunning coastal views that make Bute a jewel in the Clyde.
This carefully curated visit not only showcased the island’s rich history, vibrant local businesses, and incredible food and drink—it also shone a spotlight on the warmth and pride of the local community.
