ROTHESAY GOLF Club recently held the Kenny Dickson Texas Scramble, with all proceeds for the day going towards Woodland View School.
Woodland View School is a purpose built centre designed to meet the social, emotional, learning and medical needs of learners with additional support needs, and Kenny and Betty’s grandson is a pupil at the school.
Kenny said: “Betty and I would like to thank everyone at RGC and those on and off the island who sponsored/ donated.
“Everyone who took part in this event should be proud that they have made a child smile.
“They do fantastic work, which we appreciate greatly. Every child deserves our help and the funds raised will provide musical equipment that the children will interact with .
“It was very humbling to attend the presentation, with the grace of god we will raise even more next year.”
The competition’s winners this year were the team of Catherine Rae, Elizabeth McMillan, Karen McMillan and Anita Rutherford, with a score of 51.
In second place was Stuart Mclean, Philip Ratcliffe, Blue Hake and M Larner on 52, pipping the young team of Ryan Tierney, Rory McDonald, Owen Simpson and Robert Lowrie into 3rd place.
