PLANS have been lodged for a new home to be built in Clachan Seil.
Ronald and Emma Telfer are seeking to build the proposed one-and-a-half-storey property on land northwest of Dalansaig.
Argyll and Bute Council officials are expected to rule on the application for planning permission by early June, with the public now able to view the plans and submit feedback.
Planning permission in principle for a house on the site was previously granted by the authority in November 2024.
A design statement by planning agents Wilson Designs said: “The site encompasses a plot of land situated directly adjacent to the B844 public road in Clachan Seil. This road forms the northwestern boundary of the site, providing convenient access for vehicles and pedestrians.
“Surrounding the site are residential houses located to the north, south, and west, creating a neighbourhood atmosphere. The proximity to these dwellings highlights the residential character of the area, suggesting that the site may be well-suited for compatible development that complements the existing community.
“The application proposes a modest, one-and-a-half-storey dwelling with a pitched roof, designed in a rectangular form. The roofline is lowered at the entrance porch, which faces the road on the northwestern side, while a sheltered patio is created to the northeast under an overhanging roof.
“The dwelling is oriented parallel to the public road to the northwest. The rear elevation faces southeast, allowing for expansive views of Seil Sound, and features larger areas of glazing that open on to the garden.
“The new driveway will connect to the existing access road and runs parallel to the proposed house, providing separation between the residence and the B844.
“The building design has been carefully planned to maximise the use of the small rectangular site, accommodating parking and turning areas to the southwest while also allowing for compact, easily maintainable garden spaces to the northeast and southeast.”
