PLANS for a garage and storage building to be changed into a holiday let have been given the go-ahead by council officials.
Valda Parnaby Morton’s application to Argyll and Bute Council for planning permission was for a garage at Sheean, in Kilmichael Glen.
The authority received no representations from the public, expressing objection or support, during the planning process.
A council officer said in a handling report: “Planning permission is sought for the alterations and change of use from a garage and storage building to form a holiday letting unit at garage at Sheean, Kilmichael Glen in Argyll.
“As existing Sheean is a 1.5 storey high detached dwellinghouse. The subject of this planning application is for the alterations and a change of use of an existing detached pitched roof garage with an open ended car port to the west elevation and log store to the east elevation to form a holiday letting unit.
“The unit will accommodate a bedroom, shower room, kitchen and a dressing room to the ground floor with a lounge area in the roof space.
“A planning condition is proposed on the grant of permission limiting the occupation of the holiday letting unit accommodation due to the privacy conflict which could otherwise arise should they be used for permanent residential use.
“The development is considered to be an acceptable proposal and one which will not give rise to any adverse privacy or amenity issues given the containment within the application site.”
Various alterations to the building’s windows were also proposed as part of the application.
