KYLES Athletic were beaten comprehensively by the Premiership’s second-place side on Saturday, May 16, as Kingussie ran out 17-0 winners in a rampant display at the Dell.
Five goals from Ruairidh Anderson, as well as four from Roddy Young, three from Dylan Borthwick and Savio Genini, and one each from Thomas Borthwick and Zander Michie, ensured an emphatic win for the Highlanders as Kyles were left deflated at the foot of the table.
Reflecting on a bruising afternoon, manager Grant Profit said: “Tough weekend, we were blighted with illness and, despite enquiring, were told we needed to play and had to call a couple of young boys into the squad.”
Despite the nature of the defeat, Profit was optimistic that he’d get a reaction this weekend when Kyles face Fort William at home.
He added: “We have quality and have a number of bodies to come back in.
“I’m confident we will get a performance on Saturday and get our first points in the league, which has to be the aim.”
