A FILM-MAKER on the Isle of Bute is bringing his work home with him as he gears up to film his latest project on the island.

Alec Bowman-Clarke lives in Rothesay and is aiming to shoot a ten-minute cursed-object horror-comedy in August, bringing WATCH THIS! to life for a wide audience.

The story follows a man who discovers an old camera, giving him a convincing excuse not to make the film he intended to make, and the creative hopes WATCH THIS! will be only one of many films he makes on the island.

He said: “It’s a strange little film, but very much rooted in the island.

“We’re shooting in Rothesay, using a small cast and crew, and trying to make something ambitious but self-contained here rather than waiting for permission or funding from elsewhere.

“We’re shooting on Bute because it’s where I live. It’s expensive to bring cast and crew to the island, so I found them all here.”

The film, written and directed by Alec, will utilise all Bute has to offer.
