CalMac said this evening (Tuesday) that the passenger-only Dunoon – Gourock service will remain as a single vessel service for ‘at least’ another week.
MV Argyll Flyer was fitted with a new engine during its recent dry dock but developed problems during sea trials two weeks ago.
It was hoped Argyll Flyer would finally return to the route tomorrow (Wednesday).
However, after further sea trials today the company announced: “Due to the requirement to carry out further investigations and trials on MV Argyll Flyer‘s engines the vessel will not yet be returning to service.
“The current single vessel timetable will remain in place until at least Tuesday, June 22.”
