Cowal Camera Club First Competition of the Season Strong entries and local talent on show
First prize entry called 'Pond Life'

COWAL Camera Club held its first competition of the 2025/26 season on Monday, October 13.

The evening was judged by Boyd Meiklejohn from Ayr, who offered encouraging feedback and helpful tips throughout.

There were 17 prints in total.

Third place went to Andy Daw with a stunning image of a Jay and Isabella Hillouse with her beautiful Tulip Triptych.

Second place went to Andy Daw with Female Red, of a lovely red squirrel,

and Isabella Hillhouse for a lovely pastel of shifting sands and first place went to Bernard Ormrod for his mono image of Carraig Fhada Lighthouse

In the digital section, there were 24 images in total and third place went to Andrew Whitfield for Chaffinch in Beach Tree, Sybil Baldwin for Don’t Feed After Midnight, an image of a Silvery Marmoset and Andy Daw for On The Break, an image of windsurfing.

Second place went to Lorraine Parramore for Pink and Blue Hour, an ICM image and Sybil Baldwin for The Stalker, an image of a grey heron.

1st Place went to Andy Daw for Pond Life.

There was a great turnout and a friendly atmosphere as members enjoyed an evening of photography and chat. With such a strong start, it looks like an exciting season ahead for the club.
