IT WAS another busy and successful weekend of competition at Port Bannatyne Golf Club as dozens of golfers took to the course for the Hector Scott Trophy.
A strong turnout, featuring plenty of new faces alongside some notable absentees, highlighted what is expected to be an exciting and busy season ahead for both the club and its new committee.
Players competed over two rounds during the weekend, with some impressive scoring recorded across the field.
The first-round nett prize went to M. Myatt with an excellent score of 64, while N. McKay claimed the second-round nett honours with a 65.
Overall scratch honours went to J. McBride with a total of 145, while M. Dunn secured second place in the nett standings with 135.
The overall nett winner of the Hector Scott Trophy was C. Kelly with a superb combined score of 134.
N. McKay also recorded the only two of the weekend.
Club members paid tribute to Duncan and Graham for their continued hard work in maintaining the course, with players praising the condition of the layout heading into what promises to be a busy golfing year.
There was further cause for celebration after Iain Simpson, from Rothesay, recorded a hole-in-one at the 13th during the weekend a memorable achievement and one warmly congratulated by fellow golfers at the club.
