Bute Arts Society awarded further support for 2026/27 Season

AFTER a competitive process, Bute Arts Society has received welcome financial support from Chamber Music Scotland (CMS) for their 2026/27 season of performances.

In total, the Society will promote 22 performances, of which ten in the winter will fall under the support from CMS with funding from Creative Scotland.

The society has received CMS support thanks to promotion of an innovative series of concerts. These include classical jazz through to solo cello with voice and projections, as well as a wide range of performances that include a Jewish klezmer band, a wind quintet and an opera gala. Compelling chamber music recitals from a variety of soloists, duos and trios, and a new concert/play entitled My, My, My Delilah from CarmenCo, and another choral spectacular in May 2028 from the Ballianlay & A Choired Taste choirs are also on the horizon.

Chamber Music Scotland is only one of a number of funders who have contributed to the society. Others include Rothesay Common Good Fund, Bute BID, Visit Bute and principal funder For Bute.

A spokesperson for the society said: “Our continued support from For Bute has allowed Bute Arts to increase from an original six-concert season to a now full 22 performance year.

Without their support, Bute would be a much leaner performance landscape. We are of course increasingly grateful to our patrons, friends and season ticket holders, as well as many private supporters who also assist in making the 2026/27 season possible.”

Elsewhere, the summer galas continue with The Pirates of Penzance from Illyria Theatre and a continued and expanded Jazz Session Weekend that now includes 11 performances. Tickets are now on sale for all events, and the society hopes to see a strong turnout for the 2026/27 season.

Plans are afoot for the reopening of Rothesay Pavilion in 2027 with a gala opera performance from the Opera Bohemia company.
