Helensburgh pier toilet charges set to return

COUNCIL officials aim to reinstate charging mechanisms at Helensburgh’s pier toilets as soon as possible, with roller shutters now installed.

A report by Argyll and Bute Council officers says that a programme of work is being compiled with the contractor to repair damaged charging equipment.

The document, by the authority’s roads and infrastructure services department, is available to view on the council’s website.

It said: “Following the successful installation of roller shutter doors to protect the charging infrastructure from vandalism, we are now liaising with the contractor to agree a programme for the repair of the damaged charging equipment.

Once repairs are complete, it is anticipated that we can reinstate charging, with the new shutters providing long-term protection against further vandalism.”

In other updates for the Helensburgh and Lomond area, the report, dated Friday, June 26, added: “Surfacing works at Albert Drive will complete today. Next week the team will move on to cyclic grass cutting along the A814, alongside revenue-funded patching works across the area.

“A replacement street lighting column will also be installed on Argyll Road, Kilcreggan, following the removal of the previous column.”
