A YOUNG Dunoon Army Cadet has achieved one of the highest honours available within the organisation after being appointed the senior cadet in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Battalion.
Fraizer Lees has been promoted to the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer Class 1 and appointed Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Army Cadet Force.
The appointment places Fraizer at the top of the battalion’s cadet ranks and recognises years of commitment, leadership and dedication within the Army Cadet Force.
The role of Regimental Sergeant Major is awarded only to cadets who have consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, discipline and commitment, making it one of the most prestigious appointments a cadet can achieve.
Fraizer’s promotion is also seen as a reflection of the support he has received from his instructors, family and fellow cadets at the Dunoon detachment.
His proud father, who served for 25 years in the Royal Engineers, said the family were delighted by the achievement.
Joking about his son’s new appointment, he said that with Fraizer now holding the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major, he might have to start calling him “Sir”.
Fraizer’s achievement marks another proud moment for the Dunoon detachment and highlights the opportunities the Army Cadet Force provides for young people to develop leadership skills, confidence and teamwork while serving their local community.
