TOM G WHYTE claimed the Fiona and Bob Budd Trophy at Kyles of Bute Golf Club after returning the winning net score of 64 on Sunday, August 30.
The weather proved favourable for golf, although the midgies made their presence felt around the first two holes.
Whyte finished one shot ahead of Lindsay Towers, who took second place with a net 65. Niall McFarlane was third with a net 66.
Towers also took the scratch prize after recording a score of 69.
Four players carded a two during the competition: Peter Mobeck, Niall McFarlane, Iain Macrae and Tom G Whyte.
It was particularly fitting that Whyte lifted the trophy, having also won when the competition was first played.
The club thanked Fiona and Bob Budd for their continued support of Kyles of Bute Golf Club and the trophy.
The next competition for the gents section is the Campbell Symington Trophy on Sunday, September 6. The ballot will take place at 9.45am, with all gents section members welcome.
Meanwhile, the ladies held their end-of-season outing at Cochran Castle.
Lucie Cooney claimed the scratch prize with a score of 89, narrowly beating Trisha Marsh on 90.
Di Ouzman took the handicap prize, while the team competition was won by Lucie, Pat and Brenda.
Thursday evening also saw a mixed greensomes competition for the Centenary Cup.
The trophy was won by Pat Weir and Andy Pownall.
The club wished to congratulate all the winners.
