Inverclyde councillors will be asked to approve allocations of almost £70,000 for two different projects at a meeting later this week.
A total of £20,000 has been earmarked for the relocation of the recycling point at Bay Street car park in Port Glasgow and £48,888 for a number of improvement works to the front of the Gourock Pool area.
A report on the subject will go before elected members on the council’s environment and regeneration committee for consideration on Thursday afternoon.
It said: “The Port Glasgow Town Centre Regeneration Forum has supported the allocation of a proportion of its available funding to address the relocation of an existing recycling point within the Bay Street car park.
“Officers from the roads and environmental services have prepared proposals and estimated costs based on a scope of works informed by the forum members.
“The committee is requested to approve the allocation of up to £20,000 funding which can be contained within the current unallocated balance of the Port Glasgow town and village centre funds.
“The Gourock Town Centre Regeneration Forum at its meeting of November 14, 2025, unanimously agreed to the allocation of £48,888 of available funding to address the progression of improvements to the front of the Gourock Pool area.
“The works will include minor repairs to existing walls and surfaces including upgrading a larger area of surfacing to resin to match the recently completed work in the area.
“The committee is requested to approve the allocation of funding which can be contained within the current unallocated balance of the Gourock town and village centre funds.”
The environment and regeneration capital budget is £48.71 million, the report added, with £16.093m set aside for 2025/26.
It is projected £15.96m will be spent in the current financial year. Externally funded projects are not included in the committee figures.
