A LOCHGILPHEAD village store will put its application to councillors for a premises licence for on and off sales at its proposed café next week.
Management at Ardfern Village Store are seeking the licence for the building formerly known as Lucy’s, which is in the process of being bought.
The proposal is for on sales from 11am to 6pm, and off sales from 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, with the closing time half an hour earlier on Sundays in each case.
The licensing board will hold its meeting on Tuesday, April 21.
A report containing a statement from applicants R&T Dalton Ltd said: “We are in the process of purchasing this building and intend to move our existing shop into it.
“We would also have a small café with indoor and outdoor seating. The building sits alone in the plot with parking to one side and is very central in the village. Both shop and cafe will be open all year round.
“Management reserve the right to change weekend afternoon hours depending on demand during October to March. These changes will be well advertised.
“We plan to provide a small simple café – breakfast rolls, coffee, home baking, lunches (soup, sandwiches etc.) both sit in and takeaway.”
A report by a licensing standards officer added: “Ardfern Village Stores have been operating without issue for several years.
“This new premises licence application is in support of their move to a newer building, with the addition of on sales and a small café in addition to their value as a general store within the community.”
