ARGYLL and Bute Council is seeking residents’ views on the sufficiency of playpark facilities for children across its area.
The authority is conducting two surveys, one aimed at children and the other for adults, to find out about outdoor play opportunities for youngsters and how well they are served.
The consultation is open until Monday, April 13, and covers most of the Argyll and Bute area except those covered by Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
The findings of the surveys will form part of the process to make up the third local development plan for the area, which is the subject of a separate consultation.
A council spokesperson said: “The council is carrying out a play sufficiency assessment (PSA) which is required as part of the evidence report for the next local development plan (LDP3).
“The PSA will assess outdoor play opportunities for children and this includes formal playparks and other informal outdoor places such as beaches, woodlands or sports pitches.
“To help with this assessment we are carrying out two surveys, one aimed at children (anyone under 18 years old) and one aimed at parents, carers and other adults.
“Our PSA covers all of Argyll and Bute except for the area in the National Park. This is because Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority is responsible for the local development plan and the PSA for the National Park. If you live within the National Park then there is no need to complete the survey.”
