THE much-loved Angel Tree has gone up once again at local hardware store Dae It Yersel, marking the start of a festive tradition that has transformed Christmas for dozens of families across Cowal.
Each paper angel hanging from the tree represents a child or adult who has been nominated for support this Christmas. Anyone wishing to take part can simply choose an angel, purchase a gift for that individual, and return it — unwrapped — to the shop so it can be matched correctly.
Angels are available now until Saturday, December 13 and the gift return deadline is Monday, December 15.
This year’s launch follows the overwhelming success of last Christmas, when 90 children and 34 families benefitted from the scheme — the third year running that Dae It Yersel has led the community effort.
Organiser Helena McLay said the response in 2024 was “staggering,” praising the kindness shown by local residents, schools, nurseries, businesses and community groups.
With the Angel Tree now open for 2025, Dae It Yersel is once again inviting the community to help bring joy to local families who need it most this Christmas.
