A Dunoon care home is celebrating national recognition after being named one of Scotland’s Top 20 Rated Care Homes for 2026.
Ardnahein Care Home has earned the accolade as part of the Our Carehome.co.uk Awards, which are based entirely on reviews from residents, service users and their families. The home previously achieved the same honour in 2023.
Home Manager Grace Middleton described the award as a proud moment for the team and the wider Dunoon community.
She said: “To be recognised again means a huge amount to us. What makes this award so special is that it comes directly from the voices of our residents and their families — those who experience our care every day.”
The awards highlight top-performing individual care homes across the UK, with rankings determined by independent online feedback.
Ardnahein, a small rural home, is well known locally for its close community links and emphasis on providing a home-from-home environment. Staff focus on relationship-based, person-centred care, with dignity and respect at the heart of daily life.
Ms Middleton paid tribute to the staff team, past and present.
“This award belongs to our team, who work incredibly hard with compassion, commitment and resilience, often through very challenging circumstances,” she said. “It also reflects the trust our residents and families place in us.”
The recognition provides reassurance to residents and their families that the home continues to deliver high standards of care in a warm and supportive setting.
As the only rural care home to feature on this year’s list, Ardnahein says it remains committed to building on its success and continuing to serve the people of Dunoon and the surrounding area.
