LOCAL shinty starlet and emerging ColGlen talent, Auryn Kerr, has made a mark on international duty, playing a key role in Scotland under-17s’ two wins across the Irish Sea.

Over the past 20 years, the country’s elite shinty players have faced off against their Irish counterparts in shinty/hurling challenge matches as part of a showcase of Celtic connections between the countries, and this year was no different.

Against stern opposition, the young Scots came out on top, beating Dublin 33-10 and Meath 57-20, and according to those within ColGlen, their representative played a starring role in both matches, even picking up man of the match against the capital side.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Everyone at ColGlen is very proud of what he has achieved during the tour.”
