THIS Christmas, local organisation Argyll and Bute Befrienders Supporting Young People are on a mission to help local young people thrive, and they’ve turned to creativity to achieve it.
With the festive season approaching, staff launched a Christmas card design competition across all Argyll and Bute schools. The winning designs have now been professionally printed and will be sold to raise vital funds for the charity.
The prize was two packs of the winners’ own printed cards, an art kit, and some chocolate – it is Christmas, after all.
Cowal and Bute organiser Lucy Neish said: “We were totally blown away by the variety and originality of the designs. So we passed the judging over to our charity’s board members.”
The results were:
P1-3 Winner: Eliza MacNeil (P2), Innellan Primary School
P1-3 Runner-up: Darcie Carter (P2), Strachur Primary School
P4-7 Winner: Michaela MacIntyre (P7), Strachur Primary School
P4-7 Runner-up: Cailin McGuiness (P6), Innellan Primary School
Lucy added: “Well done to all the winners and runners-up. We hope you enjoy your prizes – they are truly deserved.”
Cards, which are £1 each or 4 for a pack of £5, can be bought from the website befrienders.scot, and QR code posters will be sent to the winning primary schools.
