Bute Agricultural Society hold annual event

On Saturday, November 15, in perfect weather conditions Bute Agricultural Society held it’s annual Ploughing Match at Acholter farm by kind permission of Ian and Alison Livingston.

At least 18 ploughmen showed the skill and patience involved in working the ground in the remarkably dry field near Ettrick Bay.

Judge Willie Reid from Campbeltown crowned his champion ploughman as Ian Livingston of Acholter Farm, ploughing with his Grey Ferguson tractor and his Ransome Robin plough.

The Bute Agricultural Society committee wanted to thank all entrants, helpers, those who donated to and bought tickets for the raffle and Willie Reid, the Judge, for making the day a success.
