Bute dance school glittering success at Bute Highland Games

THE CHLOE Aiken School of Dance celebrated a weekend of outstanding achievement at this year’s Bute Highland Games.

More than 30 dancers from the school took to the boards, competing against strong opposition and returning home with an incredible haul of over 100 medals, 12 trophies, and numerous stamped cards.

The school saw success across all morning sections, with 12 trophy winners showcasing the depth of talent within the ranks. In the afternoon, three pupils proudly represented the school in their first- ever championships – a milestone moment for the young competitors and a testament to their hard work and progression.

Adding to the celebrations, the weekend also marked the release of exam results for pupils who recently sat their Highland Theory Exams. All 12 candidates achieved Honours, the highest grade possible – a clean sweep that underlines the dancers’ dedication to both practice and theory.

The successful candidates were: Layla McFarlane, Sophie Mellor, Eliza Fisher, Isabella Gray, Ashlyn Williamson, Amelia Whitelaw, Sophia Taylor, Margo Telfer, Aurora Pattison, Kady Brooks, Gracie-Mae Bryson, and Leya McMillan.

Reflecting on the weekend, the school praised the achievements of every dancer, with special pride reserved for the primary dancers and new beginners, many of whom were competing for the very first time – and all of whom returned home with medals.
