Community, sports and voluntary groups who are “doing fantastic work” across the area have been invited to bid for support from Inverclyde Council.
A total of £260,000 has been set aside for the community grants fund which is open and accepting applications for amounts of up to £10,000.
One-off sums are available to cover things like facilities and running costs, projects and fee waivers, such as subsidising hall and pitch hire.
Councillor Graeme Brooks, chair of the council’s grants sub-committee, said: “Across Inverclyde we have many groups doing fantastic work right in the heart of our community.
“Budget is set aside each year by the council to provide one-off support to give these groups a helping hand in the good work which benefits our area so much.
“The pot of money does have a limit, so the role of members of the grants sub-committee is to make sure the money spent achieves the maximum benefit across Inverclyde.”
As a result, applicants will need to detail if and how the grant would help the wider community.
Last year, more than 100 groups across Inverclyde benefited from the fund.
A deadline of 12pm on Friday, July 10, has been set for applications, with elected members meeting in September to make awards.
