Cowal Camera Club’s annual audio-visual evening proved once again to be a highlight of the club’s calendar, with members delivering an engaging and varied programme of visual storytelling.
A total of 10 presentations were showcased on the night, combining photography, video, music and commentary to create a diverse and entertaining experience for the audience.
The evening opened strongly with a striking collection of North Devon landscapes by Lorraine Parramore, setting the tone for what followed. Bernard Ormrod then brought viewers closer to home with Three Old Men, a thoughtful piece set in Dumfries and Galloway.
Further afield, Andy Daw transported the audience to Finland with The Bear Necessities of Life, featuring captivating footage of a mother brown bear and her cubs. Sybil Baldwin followed with an insightful journey through Neolithic history, travelling from Orkney to Jersey.
A lighter moment came courtesy of Robbie the Collie, whose humorous narration offered a unique take on owner David Fiddes’ photography adventures.
The programme also featured a visit to St Conan’s Church at Loch Awe, scenic views from Skye and the hills of Cowal, and The Power of Nature, which vividly captured dramatic waves crashing into Jersey’s St Ouen’s Bay.
David Lawson then guided the audience through Sicily, blending vibrant street photography from a busy fish market with scenes from Mount Etna, complete with a practical warning about the sharp volcanic dust.
The evening concluded with a visually stunning journey to Utah National Park, providing a fitting finale to a memorable showcase.
The event was warmly received, highlighting the creativity, skill and passion of club members across a wide range of subjects and styles.
