PUBLIC toilets at Riverside in Dunoon were recently subject to vandalism, council officials have reported.
Staff from Argyll and Bute Council worked quickly to tidy the site up and ensure it was restored to public use.
Reports to councillors from the authority’s roads and infrastructure services have also given an update on road repairs across Bute and Cowal.
The details feature in reports dated Friday, April 24 and Friday, May 1, which are available on the council’s website.
In the earlier report, a council officer said: “The public toilets at Riverside, Dunoon were subject to vandalism earlier this week.
“The site has since been tidied up and reopened, with the team responding quickly to restore the facility for public use.
“In Cowal, works are ongoing across a range of locations, including footway repairs in Kames and footway surfacing on Argyll Road.
“Ditching operations are underway at Toward, alongside hot pothole repairs in Lochgoilhead and on the C6 at Carrick.
“Additional pothole repairs are being carried out in the Ardlamont and Tighnabruaich areas, with sign pole works progressing across the B836, A815 and A880.
“On Bute, the Roadmaster is operating on the A844, supporting general maintenance activities. Footway repairs are ongoing on St Brides Road, alongside pothole repairs identified through safety inspections to help maintain the condition and safety of the network.
“Our contractor is scheduled to attend Dunoon from May 4 to undertake works associated with ferry infrastructure, including the installation of rubbing strips for the passenger ferry berth.
“All works will be carried out outwith ferry operating hours, primarily overnight, and no disruption to ferry services is anticipated.”
In the more recent document, the official said: “Works are progressing on the seawall at Children’s Corner on Bute. The Roadmaster is currently operating in Glenbranter, while gully resetting is being undertaken in Sandbank.”
