KIRN Primary School was alive with music, poetry and celebration when it hosted its annual Scottish ceilidh and Burns celebration on Thursday, January 22.
Families and friends gathered from 5.45pm, with the festivities running from 6pm to 8pm in a packed school hall decorated for the occasion.
Live music was provided by Inverhooley, whose energetic performance kept spirits high an the dance floor busy throughout the evening. Pupils, parents and staff joined in traditional ceilidh dances, with plenty of laughter as everyone took their turn at the reels and jigs.
A highlight of the evening was the traditional Address to the Haggis, delivered with enthusiasm and earning warm applause from the audience. The celebration of Scotland’s national bard continued with pupils confidently performing a selection of Scottish poems, showcasing both their talent and hard work.
The audience was also treated to a display from Highland dancers, whose skill and precision added to the authentic feel of the event.
A raffle held during the evening proved popular, with a range of prizes generously donated by supporters helping to raise additional funds for the school.
