Folk star Andrew Cadie set for Uig Hall performance

AN internationally acclaimed folk performer with ties to Cowal is bringing his latest tour to Uig Hall.

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Cadie is bringing his UK tour to Cowal.

Cadie, whose family has strong links to Strachur, is now based in Germany but is returning to the UK for a series of performances, including the upcoming Uig Hall date.

Organisers are encouraging local audiences to turn out and support what promises to be a memorable night of music.

Originally from Northumberland, Cadie is known for blending traditional folk influences with a wide range of musical styles. His sound draws on work songs, American folk and soul, fiddle and pipe tunes, and even elements of psychedelic rock, creating a distinctive and highly personal performance style.

Over the years he has developed his craft through extensive live performance, including a decade spent busking, which helped shape the energetic and engaging stage presence he is now known for.

Cadie is perhaps best recognised as one half of the successful folk duo Broom Bezzums, but his solo performances have earned widespread praise in their own right. His shows combine powerful vocals with a mix of instruments, delivering everything from driving guitar anthems to expressive fiddle-led pieces and lively dance tunes.

The Uig Hall concert is expected to offer a rare opportunity to see an internationally recognised performer in an intimate local setting.

Organisers say it promises to be an entertaining and high-energy evening, and are encouraging people from across the area to come along and enjoy the performance.
