REVISED plans for a Rosneath housing estate have been submitted to council officers – 17 years after they were first put together.
Henry Brothers (Scotland) Ltd, who are behind the proposals for the village’s former Camsail Works, have requested a non-material amendment to the plans which would see a reduction in building footprints.
The plans would see nearly 200 accommodation units on the site along with workshop units, a restaurant and retail units, as well as a mooring basin.
Argyll and Bute Council approved the original application in 2015, with the proposal having been lodged in 2009. The removal of a planning condition was agreed in 2018.
Conditions as part of the original permission included 44 homes being made available in a shared equity scheme, and the marina only being used by residents rather than being a public facility.
The site has been unused for many years and saw extensive clearance work in 2022, before being marketed as King’s Marina.
The proposal remains for nine homes with ‘live-work’ space, 45 townhouses and 121 apartments, as well as two workshop units, a restaurant and retail units, as well as the mooring basin and a children’s play area.
Other changes forming part of the non-material amendment include the simplification of roof forms, the reduction and redistribution of under-croft parking, and the introduction of renewable technologies.
No supporting statement has yet been made available on the Argyll and Bute Council website, where the public can view the latest plans and submit feedback.
