IT WAS standing room only at the Tighnabruaich and District Heritage Centre last month for the launch of its new History of Clan Lamont exhibition.

The display has arrived in Tighnabruaich through an outreach initiative led by Andreya Kelly, manager of Castle House Museum, where the full exhibition and artefacts can be viewed.

Ms Kelly attended the launch on Tuesday, September 17, with colleague Margaret Hubbard, joining Mary Lamb, president of the Clan Lamont Society, and Graeme Hogg, representing the Tighnabruaich and District Development Trust—under whose aegis the Heritage Centre was established and funded.

Local residents with Clan Lamont connections were among the packed audience, which heard introductions from organisers before browsing panels and materials charting the clan’s story and local ties. Volunteers from the Heritage Group kept the conversation flowing with teas and coffees throughout the morning.

Organisers thanked guests, visitors and volunteers for their support, describing the event as “a very interesting and enjoyable morning”. They also encouraged anyone who missed the launch to visit Castle House Museum to see the complete exhibition and associated artefacts.

The Tighnabruaich and District Heritage Centre continues its programme of local history displays and welcomes new visitors and volunteers. Further details are available via the Tighnabruaich and District Development Trust channels.
