SEVEN Dunoon Grammar School pupils took to the trails at Comrie Croft as they competed in this year’s Scottish Schools Mountain Bike Championships.
Gregor Robson, Finlay McIntosh-James, Annie McIntosh-James, Murray Sims, Ewan Cairns, Brodie Tierney and Struan Moss all represented the school at the event, which brought together more than 500 riders from 100 schools across Scotland.
The competition is now the biggest schools mountain biking event in the UK, with this year also seeing the highest-ever female participation, with girls accounting for 23 per cent of competitors.
Annie McIntosh-James finished 26th in the S1/2 Girls category in a time of 42:54.40.
In the S1/2 Boys event, Ewan Cairns was 34th in 45:53.71, followed by Struan Moss in 44th with a time of 48:10.90.
Murray Sim finished 84th in 35:43.00, while Brodie Tierney was 108th in 38:28.71.
Gregor Robson finished 60th in the S3/4 Boys category in 30:24.96, with Finlay McIntosh-James taking 105th place in 34:57.05.
The school said all seven pupils competed well and were excellent representatives of Dunoon Grammar School.
A good day was had by all, with the school now looking forward to submitting a team again next year.
The school also thanked Mr Coltart for stepping in to take the team to the championships.
